Under the aegis provided by this banner hung by the side of Highway 6, 20 adults and assorted children dined in elegance Friday evening on the lawn at Celia's Restaurant. Food was potluck — varied, organic, and delicious. All agreed it was a pleasant way to publicize the need for food free of GMO, and vowed to repeat it, next time at Fleurys' gardens, time TBA.
The event was conceived and managed by Annette Weitz, with infrastructure provided by John Salisbury, and of course Celiea's Restaurant. Huguette Allen and Carla Vierke spoke of the enviable quality of community activism displayed by Cherryvillans, which has by no means been restricted to this latest issue of GMO contamination.
